2019 Reflection

Since we are newly into the new year, I wanted to ho ahead and post a quick 2019 breakdown.  Looking forward to what 2020 brings!  We already have a big summer vacation booked and Joanna will start kindergarten.  What??!!

2019, our biggest year as a family of four.  We got our puppy, Murphy, after waiting on a waitlist for 1.5 years.  Joanna learned to swing on her very own thanks to Vivian teaching her. Lots and lots of festivals!  Exploring new places in NC: Asheboro Zoo,  Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium and White Lake Waterpark.  Joanna had her first dance recital crying during her entire first number, participated for the second number thanks to her teacher standing next to her.  Broke my heart into a million pieces and took every ounce in me not to take her off stage.  Vivian completed her first year of big girl school and entered first grade.  Joanna started her last year in preschool.  We took several vacations: Disney Dream Cruise (Jo's 1st cruise), spent 2 weeks in MS visiting family (Vivian caught her 1st fish), went to Gatlinburg for a long weekend and Vivian went to NYC for the first time.  Vivian lost her first two teeth over the summer. A couple of scary moments with both girls.  First, Vivian made her 1st ER visit that included going under full anesthesia.  A couple of weeks after, Joanna fell in the shower making a laceration to the back of her head. We opted out taking her to the ER, but that was a long night of worrying for me.  Oh, and Vivian got ear tubes in the spring. We celebrated our 13 year wedding anniversary in July.  Joanna turned 4 in May, Vivian turned 6 in June (Vivian had an ice skating party).  Vivian played soccer and was surprisingly good!  Both girls are in gymnastics and Joanna absolutely loves it!  She's really good too, tiny but strong!  The girls dressed up as a witch and cat for Halloween. Vivian had a small speaking role and solo in the Christmas play at church.  The girls received everything they asked for for Christmas.  AND one of the BIGGEST accomplishments, finishing out the year with Joanna no longer in pull-ups at bedtime and in big girl panties 🙌  Hard to believe the year is ending and a new one is about to begin, along with a new decade!
