Random Thursday

Lets do a brief recap of last month.  My birthday.  I have to say, Vivian is the best birthday present I could ever receive.  Turning 33 has been my best birthday yet!

Brian had to attend a conference in Hilton Head Halloween week and of course he had to miss his time with Vivian.  He was planning on returning on that following Sunday, but we guilted him to come home on Saturday night.  How could you not when I kept messaging adorable pictures of our sweet baby girl.

Love that my favorite doll, Lucy, and I match!

Starting to figure out this tummy time stuff!

Love my little chickens on my exersaucer

So stinking cute!!!
How cute are my little chubby legs!
Getting ready for bed time.
About two months ago I ordered her felt Christmas stocking to start making.  My Mom made one for my brother and I.  Brian and I made one for each other so I wanted to keep the tradition on making one for Vivian.

I finished a large portion of the stocking myself.  Everything minus the Poinsettia's, a Christmas present, some sequins, leaves, her name and the back of the stocking.  Okay, sounds like I didn't do much, but really did.

I did finish the tree myself.

My Mom came to the rescue and finished Vivian's stocking.  I'm so glad she did!  One, I don't think I would have finished by Thanksgiving and two, I'm happy Vivian will have something that her Memom helped make for her.

Finished product!!
I can't wait for when she's older to dump out all her candy from Santa.  I loved it when I was kid and hope she will as well.

We love our pj's!  We stay in them all day long.  I have a closet full of clothes for her, but doesn't wear because we never leave the house and just stay in jammies. Plus, why have something binding and uncomfortable for her.  Yes, baby girl clothes are adorable but just not practical in my opinion.  If she wore a little dress or jeans all day long, she wouldn't be able to do her favorite thing...hold her little footsies.

jammies
We also still love our mat time.  A definite morning and afternoon routine.

Got these jammies on sale, but similar here
We are still working on tummy time, but we have our eye and hand coordination down pat!  Its so cute seeing her spread her little finger to hold a little ball or toy.

She even can reach out for a toy while doing tummy time.

Her favorite thing to do is stand on her feet.  I think she won't crawl long and go straight to walking.  It will be so cute when she's running around.  Can't wait!!

Can't handle the cuteness!!!!!
I can't believe she's almost 5 months old and then next month she'll be 6 months!!  I have to say, I'm looking forward to her 1/2 birthday.  That's when we will start on solids.

Beaba Babycook

Butternut Squash in her little freezer tray
I was thinking that I was going to have her first solid to be butternut squash, but I think I may start her off on sweet potatoes.  I bought the book Wholesome Baby Food Guide and sweet potato was a suggestion.  Chopped full of vitamins and plus, breast milk is sweet so why not start her off on what she's use too.

That day will be a fun time!

One last random.  I am so ready to do our family Christmas card!

Yes, we are THAT family!  I think it will be super cute and I'm glad Brian is on board :)

Hospital Bag

With this weekend marking me 36 weeks pregnant, I figured I would go ahead and pack my hospital bag as a 'just in case.'  I'm the type of person that does things in advance anyway...I can't pack at the last minute or night before.  Every vacation we go on, my bag is already packed and ready to go a week before we leave.  I hate forgetting things.

I'm sure I will add more things to my bag, but I don't want to bring too much.  I will definitely be in the hospital for 48 hrs because of the gestastional diabetes so I want to be comfortable as possible.  Luckly, I've had a couple of friends that recently had babies so they are giving me some good advice.

Grey PJ Set, Vivian's Coming Home Dress, My Coming Home Outfit or this dress, Flip Flops Nursing Tops, Nursing Bra'sVictoria Secret Yoga Pants, Toiletries, Nursing Cream, Ugly Panties, Socks, Slippers, receiving blanket and my frame insert for her footprint and handprint that I'm going to frame (Frame).

A few things that aren't pictured that I'm bring include my Canon Rebel Camera, Sony Camcorder, Boppy Pillow, make-up bag, Chi Flatiron and hair dryer.

We installed the carseat this weekend so we should be good to go!  Less than 4 weeks, hopefully :)

Can't Control Myself.

I'm having the hardest time NOT spending any money on Vivy.  Honestly, I am going to have nothing to put on my registery.  I guess my baby shower will be nothing but diapers, wipes and gift cards.  I am holding off on getting a pack'n play, swing and glider in hopes someone will make those purchases for us.  It's undecided if I'll be returning to work after she is born so I want to go ahead and make purchases that will be handy in the future so we won't have to buy them then.  I'm thinking I will go back after my 12 weeks maternity leave and work through December, but come January I will be a full time mommy.  Again, not official...just in talk.  I am so glad I'm financially able to buy all the things I want for her.  B and I have separate checking accounts so everything in that nursery, I bought myself, which I feel pretty great about.  He has bought all the 'big' purchases so I figured it was my turn.  Couldn't ask for a better to spend my moo-la!!!  Here are my recent purchases.

Bibs

I have made several other clothes purchases from Baby Gap and a posh consignment sale called Whale of a Sale.  I did buy several Ralph Lauren outfits.  In a previous post I mentioned I bought the Avent bottles but decided to return them back to Amazon and got Dr. Brown's glass bottles instead.  Dr. Brown's bottles are suppose to help reduce colic.  Anything to do to have a happy baby, I will take it!!  This child is one lucky little ducky!!!

First purchases...

After having two ultrasounds and hearing the heartbeat I thought it would be okay to go ahead and make a few purchases for little peanut.  I knew no matter the what the gender was, I wanted the nursery furniture in espresso.  I like white but I fell white furniture doesn't keep 'white' for a long period of time.  After searching several sights for several days I found www.babysdream.com.  To me, they have the best looking furniture and seems to be great quality.  This site does offer free shipping to a baby shop closest to your location which brought us to this adorable children's boutique in Myrtle beach called The Kangaroo Pouch.  Brian was kind enough to ride down with me on Saturday to take a look and see if they carried this line in their store which thankfully they did.  After looking at each crib and dresser very carefully we made our purchase.  We decided on the Everything Nice (Spice) Crib.  The great thing about this crib is that it converts to a queen size bed.  Great investment I believe.

As for the dresser we decided on the Legendary line.  The drawers pulled out smoothly and it is tall which we both really liked.  Again, this dresser will work well as he/she grows up.

Along with the furniture I bought a few other items, which was purchased online, to get me feeling like a little one is on the way.  My purchases include: a diaper bag, bottles, Sofie the giraffe and a plush giraffe that plays soothing music.

I still can't believe that I'm pregnant!  I think once I feel this little one kick then I will officially believe I have a human growing inside me.  We find out the gender on Wednesday, February 6th.  Can't wait to find out if Baby Kinard will be a he or she!!
