22 Weeks

How Far along are you: 22 weeks.

Weight Gain:  11 lbs.  Started at 114.6, weighed 125 yesterday thanks to my slice of pizza, garlic knot, black & white cookie, Red Robin's grilled chicken sandwhich and fries and a caramel macchiato ice cream cone from Boombalatti's.

Maternity Clothes: I only wear maternity tops, no bottoms yet.

Food Craving:  Every morning for breakfast I have two slices of cinnamon toast on whole wheat bread and every night I have strawberry yogurt with strawberries and granola.

Food Aversion:  Nope.

How Are You Feeling:  Great!

How Are You Sleeping:  Lots of tossing and turning lately.

Miss Anything:  Nope.

Any Discomforts:  Nope.

Any Movement: I feel baby girl bumping around in there, especially at night.

Symptoms:  Just my oh so fun nose bleeds in the mornings.

Labor Signs:  No

Gender:  Girl!

Mood:  Happy and tired

Excited For Anything:  Our house is officially on the market!  My Mom and B think I've gone a little overboard with the cleaning, lol.  We had our first open house today and house hunting has begun.  I also have my next prenatal appointment on the 28th.

13 Weeks

How Far along are you: 13 weeks.  13 weeks the first go around.

Weight Gain:  1 lb.  Started at 114.6, weighed in today at 115.8

Maternity Clothes: Nope

Food Cravings: Roast Beef Pita from Pita Delite and cereal.

Food Aversion:  Vegetables.  I have to force myself to eat any which hasn't been much.

How Are You Feeling:  EXHAUSTED!!  Pregnancy the second go around is brutal. Towards the end of the day I feel 'blah.'  My Rx for Diclegis ran out week ago which has been a different ballgame.  I felt more energized and eating anything towards the end of my 1st trimester, but then I ran out of my medicine.  I figured since I wasn't thowing up anymore, I should deal with not taking it.  I am taking an additional 100 mg of Vitamin B6 along with my prenatal.

How Are You Sleeping:  I've been falling asleep around 8:30 every night and then waking up at random times during the night which sometimes it takes me forever to go back to sleep.

Miss Anything:  No.  I've been having a cup of coffee everyday to help my fatigue.  The smell of beer makes me gag.

Any Discomforts:  I have 'growing pains.'  I have slight cramping, nothing major.

Any Movement:  I feel little scratches here and there.

Symptoms:  Nose bleeds every morning.  I had that with Vivy, too.

Labor Signs:  No

Gender:  Not yet

Mood:  I was very moody during my 1st trimester, but now my hormones seem to be getting back on track.  Felt bad for my husband.

Excited For Anything:  I have a Drs appointment next Wednesday and of course Thanksgiving next week.

Guess what....!!!

Vivian is going to be a BIG SISTER!!

Even though I keep forgetting I'm pregnant thanks to little miss, we are beyond excited that she'll have a little brother or sister to play with.

This pregnancy has been way different thus far.  The fatigue is relentless thanks to my toddler, I've had morning sickness bad enough to where I'm having to take Diclegis at bedtime, I found out I was pregnant earlier (6 weeks vs 10.5 weeks) and I already have a little pooch.

When we went to Asheville the end of September, naturally I rode in the back seat with Vivian.  The entire drive, there and back, I felt car sick which has never happened.  I was so hungry the entire time, but felt blah while eating to where I was unable to finish any of my meals.

When we got back to B's parents that Saturday, he kept telling me I should take a test.  I knew I was suppose to start my menstrual cycle (sorry for the TMI) around Oct 9th and kept thinking I would just wait another week and a half.

On September 6th I thought I had started, but only lasted a day.  Thought that was strange.  I did take a test a couple of days later, the test was negative.  AF returned in August for the first time in over a year after I stopped exclusively pumping in June.  I thought maybe my body was trying to get back in the swing of things.

We got home that Sunday afternoon and decided I would go ahead and purchase a test.  Went to the store after picking up dinner for my piece of mind.

I took the test, but my results were invalid.  Guess I didn't pee on the stick long enough, lol.  I decided to redo the test even though you were suppose to use a new test.  It came back positive. I sent B to the store to buy a double pack just to make sure.  Took the test again, positive.  Took the 3rd test that following morning, positive again.

^^Pic above was taken the day I found out^^

I've already had to take the glucose test twice already since I had gestational diabetes with Vivian.  The day I met with the history nurse, she ordered the glucose test for me to take that morning.  You are suppose to take the test fasting, but I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast not knowing I would have to take the test.  It had been 3 hours so she said I should be fine since I didn't drink any kind of juice that morning.

My blood sugar for my 1 hour was 171.  Took the 2 hr test the following week and passed.  My fasting was 84 and my other two numbers were above 120 which I'm surprised my Dr passed me.  I'll still have to take the test when I'm 26-28 weeks for good measure.  I'm sure I'll be diagnosed again.  Thankful I wasn't diagnosed during the holidays!

I'm so curious on how this pregnancy is going to go.  I'm sure it will go quickly...not much time to think about it, which is good.

We are beyond bless that God is providing a sibling so quickly for Vivian since it took us 6 years to get pregnant with her and one month with this one!

She will make a GREAT big sister!!!

Induction Scheduled

Well, it looks like we will have Miss Vivian in our lives on Friday, June 21st!!  I met with my High Risk Dr on Tuesday and my amniotic fluids had decreased to 4.9.  He scheduled me another BPP for Friday to see if they increase any.  If they didn't then I would be sent straight to L&D, if not, then he wanted her born at 39 weeks or a couple of days before.  On Thursday, I received a call from one of the nurses telling me that my induction was scheduled for the following Thursday, June 20th.  I was in shock.  She was talking to me and I was like "huh", "wait, what?"  She laughed and told me to see her on Friday when I have my BPP and she would go over everything with me.

BK came with me to my appointment on Friday 'just in case' I was sent for delivery.  I met with Sharon and she told me that I would call the hospital at 5 pm to find out what time they wanted me there Thursday night to insert Cervidil.  Supposedly, it takes 12 hours to soften the cervix then they will remove it then start the Pitocin.  I was told that when they remove the Cervidil I can shower and eat a light breakfast before starting the Pitocin.

I am NOT looking forward to having Pitocin because your contractions are suppose to be 10 x worse than natural contractions.  Believe me, I will be having the epidural!!  I'm sure I'm not going to care that I'm going to have a huge needle in my spine followed by a catheter.  I'm the biggest wennie when it comes to pain.  Heck, I passed out having stitches taking out of my hand and I also passed out scrapping my finger while playing pool.  I can't imagine how this is going to go.  Thankfully, as of Tuesday, she weighed 5 lbs 15 oz...tiny little thing.

I'm just ready for this all to be over and have our sweet Vivian Rose in our arms.  I know 20 hours of pain is going to be worth a lifetime of enjoyment!!  I can't wait to see what she looks like.

Can't believe one week from today she will be out of me and in my arms.  WOW!!  I hope we are ready!

Nesting

Well, its official, I'm in total nesting mode.  I have been trying to clean this house from top to bottom so Miss Vivian doesn't arrive home in filth.  Grant it, my house isn't completely filthy, but having a little dog and your husband constantly in-an-out of the house they track in dirt.  I can sweep 3 times in one day and it doesn't look like I've swept at all.  So far, I have cleaned 'Brody's' room upstairs (cleaned the baseboards, vacuumed, cleaned the vents and dusted the computer/desk, T.V. and his chair), cleaned the baseboards in the in kitchen and cleaned out/organized the cabinets, tackled our bathroom by cleaning the baseboards and cleaning/organizing underneath the sink, washed the bath mats and dusted/windexed the living room and our room.  I need to clean the guest bathroom and bedroom, windex all the windows and dust in Vivian's room.  Also, I want to rent a carpet cleaner this weekend and get after the carpets and rugs.  Think I'm going a little overboard?  Nah, I just know I'm not going to feel like giving this house a good scrub down once little one is here.  Overall, I'm a clean person and try to keep the house straighten up, but I want it to be perfect for her arrival.  I can't believe we are winding down to the end!!

Side note, I had my weekly BBP and my amniotic fluids are still on the low end of normal...7.4 yesterday.  Not raising any concern, but they want me to take it easy and still drink lots of water.  I have been drinking the water, but I'm sure being on the constant move from 6 am - 9 pm doesn't help.  During the ultrasound yesterday, she was sticking her little tongue in and out of her mouth.  So wild she is doing this!!

Wedding band on or off: On
Stretch Marks: Nope.

Belly button in or out?:   I have an iny-outy belly button.  I'm sure this sucker will be pocking out for sure.
Mood: Getting excited
Looking Forward To:  All my doctor visits which I'm seeing 1-2 times per week.  At my first high risk appointment I found out my amniotic fluids were low, 6.1.  He wants me to have an ultrasound weekly to make sure my fluids aren't decreasing.  If they continue, I will be on bed rest.  Hopefully, that won't happen.  He told me to drinks LOTS of water and relax more...not worry about exercising so much.  Miss Vivian is a day behind in her growth which he wasn't concerned with.  She's just over 2 lbs.  I have my next ultrasound this Tuesday...crossing fingers my amniotic fluid has increased.  On Thursday, I have my regular two week appointment to have my stomach measured and hear her little heartbeat.  Its been running in the 150's which is great!

Appointments with my dietician and high risk dr.

On Tuesday I had my first appointment with my Dietician.  She said I was doing everything that I was suppose to, but gave me a chart to follow. She wants me to eat 4 servings of dairy, 10 ounces of meat, vegetables are unlimited, 3 servings of fruit, 9 servings of grains, 2 servings or less fat everyday.  I can have "extra/junk" food but has to be 150 calories or less.

I started her recommendation yesterday, but there is no way I can eat all this food.  Just too much! I'm not sure what she was thinking.  At least I don't have to count carbohydrates.  That was beginning to become a pain.

Along with all my food that I have to eat, I have to write everything down in a food journal.  This will take dedication.  I see her again in 4 weeks...hopefully I will get a good report.

Today I met with my High Risk Doctor, Dr. Wright. They did a thorough measurement of Vivian and he said she is doing great.  She is measuring a day behind which he said was fine.  My official due day is June 29th which means I will have her a week earlier because of the gestational diabetes.  They won't let me go pass 39 weeks.  So, on Saturday I will be 30 weeks which means she will be here in 9 weeks.  So hard to believe!

My amniotic fluids are low, 6.1.  I have to have an ultrasound every week to make sure they don't continue to decrease.  He told me to cut down on my activity, drink LOTS of water, and when I'm on the couch I need to lay on my side to help with the blood flow. If my fluids drop to below 5 then I will be on bedrest.

I'm just so happy they are keeping a close watch on me.  I just want to do everything to keep this baby girl healthy.  That is all any parent-to-be can ask for.  I can't wait to see her!

Sugar Baby

On Thursday, March 28th I went to have the oh so fun glucola test done.  Nothing like drinking a warm 'fruit punch' in less than 5 minutes.  Well, I polished it off in less than 1 minute...I wanted to get that finished.  After sitting there for an hour they took a vial of blood and I was on my way.  The office was closed for Good Friday so they called with my results on Monday.  Low and behold I failed.  My BSL was 176 and the cap is 139.  Not the news that I was looking for.  On Wednesday, April 3rd I went back for the 2 hour recheck.  First they took a vial of blood fasting, had an orange flavor drink which was a little better and sat for an hour.  After sitting for an hour, they took another vial of blood in my left arm.  Now, in my left arm I really don't have a good vein to draw blood so this 'country bumpkin' girl got it from the most random place on my arm.  Let me tell you, that sucker hurt.  I still have a slight bruise.  After that, I sat for another hour and she took the last vial of blood from my right arm and then I was on my way.  On Thursday I got a call from my doctors office and found out a failed yet again.  My fasting number was 80, an hour after the drink it was 222 and an hour later it was 174.  I couldn't believe it.  I have gestational diabetes.  I didn't think I would 'fit' into that category because I'm small, eat healthy, exercise and haven't gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy thus far.  It was a definite shocker.  I'm already nervous about pushing out a baby, now she could possibly be a 'big' baby just freaks me out.

On Monday, April 8th my doctors office called to let me know they had my Rx for my glucose test and log to keep track of my levels.  After work I went to CVS and got my Rx.  I was sitting down at home reading the instructions and it was so overwhelming.  The instruction sheet was as large as the US road map.  Too much information on how to use such a small device.  I went to trusty YouTube and found a video on how to use my Ultra 2.

I got up about 30 minutes before my alarm went off ready to take my test.  Well, I wasn't ready.  I was a little freaked out because I HATE having my finger pricked.  And the thought of having to do this everyday, four times a day, for 12 weeks wasn't  my idea of fun.  So after preparing myself to prick my finger, I just went for it.  I had myself worked up for nothing.  I barely even felt it.  Unfortunately, trying to get the first sample it read an error.  I didn't leave it on long enough.  The second time I tried, I didn't get enough blood on the test strip.  The third time I tried my middle finger, but nothing barely came out.  The fourth try I finally got it.  My BSL measured  103 fasting.  My doctor wants it 92 or less.  My numbers throughout the day was good.  2 hours after meals he wants them 120 or less.  I've been in the 80's and 90's which is great.

On Tuesday, April 16th I meet with a dietician and then on that Thursday I will meet with my high risk doctor.  At least I will a little extra attention and will have an ultrasound at each visit.  So glad I will be able to see baby girl a lot more.  One good thing is that they won't let me go any later than 39 weeks.  So I will either be induced or have a c-section.  I should have a scheduled delivery and then both my parents can be here since they live 13 hrs away.

I hate that I can't indulge when I want.  I'm a Sanders and we Sanders have a major sweet tooth!  But I will do whatever to keep this little girl healthy.  I was able to give up my adult beverages, I think I can cut down on my carb intake and cut out my sweets.  My whole thought is, at least I should bounce right back to my pre-pregnancy weight!!!

Anything making you feel blah or sick?: Something got to me last night.  I'm not sure if it was the BBQ, carrot cake or the 3 big glasses of pink lemonade that I had last night but 3 hrs after eating I was throwing up.  Not fun.  I thought I would go through this pregnancy without getting sick.  I was wrong.
Gender:  GIRL!!!
Labor Signs:  No.
Symptoms:   My nose bleeds every single morning.  Not a full on nose bleed, but when I blow my nose it is nothing but blood.  Disgusting I know, but this has been a daily thing since January.  Doesn't do it during the day which is weird.  Plus, I've been pretty tired this week.  I think work has something to do with that one.
Belly button in or out?:   I have an iny-outy belly button.  I'm sure this sucker will be pocking out for sure.
Mood: Tired.
Looking Forward To:  I had my Dr's appointment on Wednesday, 3/13/13, and everything went well.  Her heartbeat was 154 and my iron count increased which is great.  I did not want to have to be on an iron supplement.  Also, I'm measuring where I'm suppose to be.  Overall, great report.  I go for my gestational diabetes test on 3/28/13.  Not looking forward to that.

We are having a....

I thought for sure that we were going to have a little boy since it seems everyone was having a boy.  After talking all her measurements we are now 19 weeks...we thought we were a week further along from our first ultrasound.  Miss Vivian Rose will make her debut July 4th...give or take a few days I hope.

Missy is already spending all my money.  That's the way its suppose to be, right?!  I've already purchased her bedding, changing pad covers, crib mattress, clothes from www.zulily.com, more clothes from Baby Gap.  Today we are going to Myrtle Beach to pick up her nursery furniture :)  We are getting things together!

I can't believe I purchased a mattress from Wal-Mart, but surprisingly, it received great reviews.  Plus, you can't beat the price!

Vivian's little outfits from Zulily take 14-17 days before we receive them.  They have really cute clothes, but half the cost.  I'm sure I will purchase more from their website, but won't to make sure the quality is up-to-par.

She will certainly be spoiled rotten at first.  As she gets older, I'm going to do my best and not give her everything she wants.  I think kids these days are less appreciative and I don't want her to be that way.  Hopefully, I can be strong!  I will post a belly picture next week and I will be on track with my board.  Happy Saturday everyone!!

13 weeks

This post will be brief.  Due to travel for the Christmas holiday, I was unable to do my weekly chalkboard picture. I did take a picture of me wearing my 10th grade cheerleading skirt.  Yes, you read correctly...I couldn't believe it myself.  32 years old and 3 months pregnant, I was able to barely squeeze into that teeny tiny thing.  Grant it, the skirt wasn't sitting on my hip like it was suppose to, but just underneath my boobs.  Hey, I was able to zip and button that sucker up...that's all that counts!  I have no clue if I gained any weight, I will kniw tomorrow.  I'm sure I did from all the snacking I did.  Feeling pretty normal.  To be honest, not feeling very pregnant.  Only have signs of a slight pooch.  I just look, and feel, bloated.  My next Drs appointment isn't scheduled until Jan 16th.  Hoping everything is going the way it should be!

Sleep:  Sleep has gotten much better after my nurse told me I can sleep however I would like up until 16-18 weeks of my pregnancy.
Best Moment This Week: Telling Brian's colleagues that we were expecting at his Christmas party on Friday night.  He wrote a wonderful toast making it sound like he was leaving his job in the fall and then at the end we said that we were expecting.  Everyone's face was priceless!  Great moment.
What I Miss:  Still caffeine, beer and wine :(
Does Anyone Know?:  Both parents and siblings, my co-workers (can't keep secrets at my office), Brian's colleagues and my two best friends from Mississippi. I will make a Facebook announcement Monday night after I have my appointment with my OB.  Want to make sure everything is going well first.

Belly button in or out?:   I have an iny-outy belly button.  I'm sure this sucker will be pocking out for sure.

Looking Forward To:  December 17th to see my Dr then officially telling everyone that we are expecting.  Also, going to Mississippi to see my family for Christmas :)

Sign from Etsy shop: sweetMEboutique

12 Weeks

How Far Along Are You: 12 weeks
Weight gain:  0 lb, 117.6  (started at 116.6, but my weight has been fluctuating from 116-117.  All depends on what I eat)
Maternity Clothes:  Not yet
Wedding band on or off: On
Stretch Marks: None.  I've been lathering myself with Palmer's Cream.
Movement:  Not yet.  My nurse said I will probably start feeling movement at 20 weeks.
Food Cravings?: Onion Rings which I finally had some for lunch today.  They were greasy and delicious:)
Anything making you feel blah or sick?:  I tried eating a scrambled egg and cheese sandwich the other day for breakfast and I could only eat half.
Gender:  Not yet.  Can't wait for that part!!
Labor Signs:  No.  I would be freaked out if I did right now!
Symptoms:  Still sore boobs on occasion.  Overall, I have been feeling pretty good.  Like my normal self.
Belly button in or out?:   I have an iny-outy belly button.  I'm sure this sucker will be pocking out for sure.
Mood: Happy.
Looking Forward To:  December 17th to see my Dr then officially telling everyone that we are expecting.  Also, going to Mississippi to see my family for Christmas :)
