Not our Sunday best

Sunday's have not been in our favor. Last Sunday while I was changing clothes, Vivian fell off our chair in the bedroom. She was playing with B's belt and it fell on the floor and so did she.  Poor thing.  I turned and all I could see was her backside, head down, going to the ground. Some how she flipped and landed on her tummy.  She wasn't hurt thank goodness.  Only cried for a second.  At least it wasn't a long fall.

This was all after her not so fun stay at nursery during church.

Now to yesterday.

Poor kid, again, didn't have a great time in nursery.  She was mad during her stay.  One kid tried taking her toy and she did not like that. She also got mad when they changed her diaper.  They said she wasn't crying until one of the parents ahead of us walked in. Once we walked in, she was hysterical. Took a little while to calm her down.  I think one of the main reasons she's so upset is because it's close to her feeding and nap time.  I give her a little milk on the way to church to hold her over, but when the time between 9/9:30 am rolls around, she knows its time to eat and sleep.  They are going to dread seeing us each Sunday.

After church, I gave her her bottle on the way home and she fell asleep.  Around 10:30 I started my pumping session and while pumping Vivian woke up.  I asked B to get her and change her diaper.  A few minutes later I heard Brian scream, "Oh God!"  I unhooked and ran to her room. Vivian fell off the changing table onto the floor.  That's about a 3 ft fall! He said the diaper pail was full and he was holding the changing pad (not her) and moved the pail and her heard a thump.  Baby girl on the floor on her stomach.

I got her calmed and thank the GOOD Lord she wasn't hurt.  Scared us both.

I'm kind of nervous what next Sunday will bring us.  I promise baby girl, we aren't trying to hurt you.  We love you bunches!!!

Side note:  As a baby, I fell out of the tub that was on the counter in the bathroom onto the floor...the hard floor...when my Mom stepped in my room for a quick second to grab something.

Lesson to parents:  Do not let your child out of site for a second and never let go of them.

Mom's Milestone

Today I finally bit the bullet and left Vivian in the church nursery.  We haven't attended church since the end of October and knew it was time to get back in the swing of things.

When we got there, one little boy was being dropped off at the same time. I'm guessing he was 1.  Vivian just looked around taking everything in as usual.  The little boy started playing with a few toys so I sat Vivian on the floor to let her play.  The young girl volunteering was on the floor as well.  Vivian didn't fuss...just watched.  I think we are good to go!

B and I headed to the sanctuary.  They did give us a pager just in case they needed us.  Comforting to have and no, they did not have to page us.

I managed to focus on the sermon and my mind wasn't constantly on Vivian.  Good sign.  After service was over we made our way back to the nursery.

Vivian was sitting in the young girls lap and there were a few more kids.  When Vivian saw us she started to cry a little.  We were told she did well and the only thing that happened was that one of the kids took her little card that she was playing with and Vivian got really mad.  Vivian was holding this little card when we walked into the nursery.  Crossing fingers we aren't going to have a "No, that's mine" little girl.  Simply another reason why she needs to be around other children.

I'm glad we both survived because I am ready to get back into going to church.  Happy Sunday!!!

Organizing

Miss Vivy will make her debut just over a month and I've already got some of her clothes washed and put away.  I just want to get as much done so towards the end I won't have to stress on getting her things together. I didn't wash all her clothes, only her 0-3 months...hopefully she will be able to wear them :)

Our glider arrived on Tuesday that Brian's mother got us as a baby gift.  It fits perfectly in her nursery and I know we will spend countless hours in that chair.

I am so ready to meet this little girl.  I had my weekly ultrasound yesterday and she wasn't being shy this time.  She usually has her little face covered, but yesterday you could see that sweet little face.  She was opening her mouth and trying to suck her thumb.  Melts my heart.

I REALLY wish I could post pictures, but for some reason blogger isn't letting me upload any photos.  I have tried for several days now.  Sorry.

Fun purchases

My poor checking account has been taking a big hit lately.  I told myself I'm going to give myself until May then I'm just going to stop so I can bring my account back up before Vivy arrives.  I think every new mom goes through this...right??  I want to make sure she has the cutest clothes, toys and room decor.  You can't put $$$ on cuteness!!

We were suppose to go to Nashville this weekend to see Maroon 5 in concert, but made the difficult decision (on my part) to sell our tickets and use that money to put towards her stroller and car seat.  I hate that I can't see the oh so cute Adam Levine, but priorities come first.  We decided to go with the  Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Sip 30-30 car seat and the Peg Perego Switch Four stroller...hopefully it will meet all are needs.

As for the toys, I purchased several of the Lamaze brand based on their ratings.  I was surprised how big they were. No one mentioned that in the comments, which is fine..they are really cute.

I also got her some little sunglasses that I got from work.  It is very important to protect those little eyes from all the UV rays.  Did you know that the majority of your eye damage happens by the time you turn 18?  Train your child early so they will always want to wear them.  Adorable!!!  We are going to have the cutest little girl :)

Wall Decal

We've been on a hunt for a wall decal to put over Vivy's crib that we both like for a while now.  After several days and hours, we found this on Etsy.  I placed the order on Sunday and it arrived in less than a week.  I was hesitant on placing the order since you really aren't sure if the colors were going to work.  Was the pink going to be too pink or will the brown work??  Well, I have to say I'm very pleased in the way it turned out.  It was a slight pain putting it up, but we or, should I say Brian, got it up on the wall pretty straight.  We are very pleased.

Can't Control Myself.

I'm having the hardest time NOT spending any money on Vivy.  Honestly, I am going to have nothing to put on my registery.  I guess my baby shower will be nothing but diapers, wipes and gift cards.  I am holding off on getting a pack'n play, swing and glider in hopes someone will make those purchases for us.  It's undecided if I'll be returning to work after she is born so I want to go ahead and make purchases that will be handy in the future so we won't have to buy them then.  I'm thinking I will go back after my 12 weeks maternity leave and work through December, but come January I will be a full time mommy.  Again, not official...just in talk.  I am so glad I'm financially able to buy all the things I want for her.  B and I have separate checking accounts so everything in that nursery, I bought myself, which I feel pretty great about.  He has bought all the 'big' purchases so I figured it was my turn.  Couldn't ask for a better to spend my moo-la!!!  Here are my recent purchases.

Bibs

I have made several other clothes purchases from Baby Gap and a posh consignment sale called Whale of a Sale.  I did buy several Ralph Lauren outfits.  In a previous post I mentioned I bought the Avent bottles but decided to return them back to Amazon and got Dr. Brown's glass bottles instead.  Dr. Brown's bottles are suppose to help reduce colic.  Anything to do to have a happy baby, I will take it!!  This child is one lucky little ducky!!!

Vivy's Closet

I think her little closet is coming together don't you think?  Got this cute idea from awesome Pinterest.  Love that site!  Since we didn't have much space left in her room, it is the perfect place to have extra storage.  Oh, to the little things :)

Vivian's room is coming together...

Last Sunday, B and I painted Vivy's room a Benjamin Moore custom grey.  They were able to match the grey in her bedding for her paint color which made me happy.  I was having the hardest time finding a grey that I liked since all of them had a blue tint.  Going custom was a little scary because you had to buy a gallon and not sure if it was going to turn out the way you want...the paint color always seem different when you have it in the natural lighting once it dries.  Thankfully it turned out great!

Dresser.  The toy basket I found at Home Goods.

 Crib
Side note: No one told me that you have to remove the crib bumper each time you change the crib sheet!  What a pain!  I will be purchasing Ultimate Crib Sheet that was recommended to me by a friend.
Her clothes are mainly Carter's, Baby Gap and few I purchased on Amazon.  The yellow in front is a Woombie.
Little white blanket by Magnolia Baby

First purchases...

After having two ultrasounds and hearing the heartbeat I thought it would be okay to go ahead and make a few purchases for little peanut.  I knew no matter the what the gender was, I wanted the nursery furniture in espresso.  I like white but I fell white furniture doesn't keep 'white' for a long period of time.  After searching several sights for several days I found www.babysdream.com.  To me, they have the best looking furniture and seems to be great quality.  This site does offer free shipping to a baby shop closest to your location which brought us to this adorable children's boutique in Myrtle beach called The Kangaroo Pouch.  Brian was kind enough to ride down with me on Saturday to take a look and see if they carried this line in their store which thankfully they did.  After looking at each crib and dresser very carefully we made our purchase.  We decided on the Everything Nice (Spice) Crib.  The great thing about this crib is that it converts to a queen size bed.  Great investment I believe.

As for the dresser we decided on the Legendary line.  The drawers pulled out smoothly and it is tall which we both really liked.  Again, this dresser will work well as he/she grows up.

Along with the furniture I bought a few other items, which was purchased online, to get me feeling like a little one is on the way.  My purchases include: a diaper bag, bottles, Sofie the giraffe and a plush giraffe that plays soothing music.

I still can't believe that I'm pregnant!  I think once I feel this little one kick then I will officially believe I have a human growing inside me.  We find out the gender on Wednesday, February 6th.  Can't wait to find out if Baby Kinard will be a he or she!!
