San Diego Part 2

Monday afternoon, Brian finished his conference around 5:30 pm.  I spent almost 2 hrs alone in our 'haunted' room.  Not going to lie, it was a little creepy.  While I was sitting at the desk, my seat all of a sudden started getting really hot and I had an uneasy feeling.  Paranoia I guess.

We had dinner at Coronado Brewing Company which was really good.  We made our way back to the hotel close to 9 pm.  After getting into bed I turned the side table lamp off and then all of a sudden the light started flickering on-and-off.  I moved next to B quickly...Brian told me I was ridiculous thinking that Kate was in the room with us.  Sorry, I have never have that happen before and they said it that was one of the things that happens in the room. Little spooky.

I got up at 5:30 am to pump and called my Mom to check on little one.  Of course, she was doing great.  I got dressed and walked down to Starbucks while Brian slept.

After breakfast, I walked to the beach and sat on the bench like a little elderly person.

After enjoying the outdoors, I went up to the room  pump again and got Brian up.  It was a little overcast, but I was ready to make our way to the zoo.

I do love the San Diego Zoo...I hope to take Vivian one day.  We stayed all afternoon.  When you first enter, you have the flamingos.

I enjoy watching them.  We made our way to the sea lion show. They also show cased several other animals.  I thought the wolf was amazing.  What was even more amazing, him and a dog are best friends.

After the little show we took the sky cart to the other side of the zoo.

Balboa Park

Downtown San Diego

We saw the oldest Tortoise, Speedy.  They have estimated his age to be about 150 years old!  How incredible is that?

Speedy

We also saw Polar Bears, Reindeer, Giraffe and my personal favorite, Koala Bears.  I would love to hold one one day.

This little guy was only a couple of months old.

So cute!!!
I even had the pleasure to pump at the zoo.  Fun, let me tell you!  I had to sit outside with a curtain blocking me on a bench next to the First Aid house.  Behind me was the reptile house so I could hear people talking.  Another mother even came in on another bench to nurse her little girl.  Ready to put pumping behind me!

After the zoo, we took a taxi downtown and found a place to eat and have a few drinks.  Downtown was having a Mardi Gras fiesta and were charging $40 per person to go down one street to enter the restaurants.  Crazy.  We went to a street over and came across a place called The Commons Bar.  It was SO GOOD!  They had the best nachos, turkey burger and sweet potato fries.  Very friendly service as well.

We stayed until about 8:30 pm before heading back to the hotel.  We got us a good night sleep and I got up bright and early once again for breakfast and one last walk around the grounds.

The original elevator
While waiting for our taxi at the hotel there was a guy with a Mississippi State shirt on.  Apparently, MS Asphalt was having a convention at the hotel.  We spoke with the guy for a few minutes and he said there was a guy there from Winona named Jeff Johnson.  I'm not familiar who he was, but what a small world.

We got to the airport around 9:30 and our flight departed at 11 am.  One neat thing was that one of the passengers on our flight was celebrating his one million miles with Delta.  That's a lot of flying!  We also flew back to Atlanta on a new aircraft.

We got home around 11 pm.  I was so ready for the next morning to see my little sweet sweet!  I sure did miss this little girl!
