Back in August, we took a final hoorah before school started back by taking the girls on a Disney Cruise. We took Vivian for her 4th birthday, but left Joanna at home. We wanted her to go when she wasn't afraid of characters anymore to make the trip more enjoyable. The girls had the best time!
We drove to Daytona Beach and spent the night before making our way to Cape Canaveral. This was the first time the girls shared the same room without an adult. Joanna kept getting out of the bed, but finally settled. It was a successful night.
The next day we boarded the ship by 11 am. When we walked on the ship, Daisy Duck grabbed the girls hands and snapped some pictures. After that we went to the pool. Vivian was excited to ride her first big kid water slide and Jo was thrilled to swim in the Mickey pool. She was a tad short for the Mickey slide, but was content with the splash pad slide.
We ate lots of ice cream and we never dined in the main dining areas. We just grabbed burgers and pizzas. The girls knew no different.
We watched the Beauty and the Beast live show that was really good. Both girls loved it! We even watched Toy Story 4 and ate several buckets of popcorn.
When we docked at Castaway Cay, we got off the ship when we could and enjoyed the beach with very few people. The night before was pirate night so people slept in. Vivian didn't even want to watch the pirate show, but wanted to do the detective hunt. Jo Bear and I watched some of it before going back to our cabin. At Castaway, Vivian did the water slide once then played on the beach. They have a splash pad and the girls really enjoyed that. A lot less salty! We grabbed lunch then went back on the ship. Vivian was able to ride the Aqua Duck several times and Jo was able to swim in tye Mickey pool without floaties. It was nice being on the ship with not many people.
We stayed on the ship along with everyone else in Nassau.
Our last night Vivian's tooth became really wiggly and we were hoping it would come out while on the ship, but it didn't. She did, however, lost it when we got home the next day. Our puppy, Murphy, bumped her chin and it fell out.
I am so happy we were able to take both girls and a fun vacation. It truly is a not so stressful trip with kiddos!
