Winter Wonderland

Last Wednesday (Jan 3) we woke up to a beautiful winter wonderland thanks to winter storm Grayson.  I can honestly say I have never seen snow like this, especially living a in a coastal town.  I was in absolute awe the entire time.

We got around 4", maybe a little more, which doesn't seem a lot, but it is for folks who don't live where it typically snows.  The snow itself was so soft and powdery, not hard and icy.  The girls loved playing, but was ready to come in after a short amount of time since we don't have the proper attire.  We layered as much as possible and they were still cold.  We made the most of it over the next several days with walking, snow ball fights, snowman building attempt, sledding with a boogie board and even eating popciscles inside.  Here it is a week later and we still have snow on the ground.  Thankfully the girls report back to school tomorrow...yea!!

I'm not sure if we will ever see snow like this again and I hope the girls will always remember...at least Vivian...but if not, I will never forget this magical time we had.

Joanna 2.5 Years Old and Vivian 4.5 Years Old

These girls.  The are growing up way too fast!!  I cannot believe in the next 5 months I will have a 3 year old and 5 year old!!  The saying is true, 'The days are long, but the years are fast.'

Joanna 'JoJO'

Oh, Joanna.  You are wild, crazy, strong-willed, independent, determined, wants it your way and emotional.  With your strong qualities you are also the most huggable, kissable, funniest, empathetic two year old on the planet.  You are always concerned when you hear someone cry and want to make sure they are okay.

You love love LOVE baby dolls.  You are always playing with your babies, taking care of them, strolling them, feeding them.  You are going to be a wonderful mommy one day.

You are beginning to talk a lot more and daddy is starting to understand you.  You love saying, 'I scared', ' not scared', 'go away', 'what's that sound?', 'no, I do it', 'your welcome (instead of saying thank you), 'daddy ate poop (not sure where that came from, but you think it's hilarious).

You are my Froot Loop girl.  You can pound out an entire box in just a few days.  You also love sweet potatoes, strawberries, kiwi, smoothies, pasta, chicken noodle soup and chips.

You love doing everything by yourself which leaves you very frustrated.  You want help, but when mommy tries helping you have a meltdown because don't want my help.  You are always trying to put your shoes on yourself, taking your clothes on and off, brushing your teeth, washing hands, getting water into a cup.

You go to bed at 7:30 pm...asleep by 8:30, wake between 7-7:30 am and nap from 1:30-3 pm.  I wake you from your nap.  Some days you don't nap and hang out in your crib playing, singing, counting, standing, bouncing.  When I come for you in the morning, you stretch out then ask for Vivy and daddy.  While changing your diaper I ask you if you slept well and if you had sweet dreams.  You always say yes :)

You love the playground.  You can climb the monkey bars to the top of the slide all by yourself.  I of course stand underneath you just in case you fall.  You never want me to help you.  Everyone is amazed watching you climb because you are a tiny peanut.  You love going down the tallest slide and swinging.

You enjoy going to the beach, but you don't run straight into the water.  You have to get comfortable before dipping your toes, especially when it has been a while between beach visits.

You love preschool.  You are the only little girl in your 2 year old class and you are queen B.  You love being in there with all boys. However, you are not a fan of Sunday school, you only want to stay in nursery.  I think because baby Remy is there.  One day you'll go I know.

You think pooting is the funniest thing ever!

You are a monkey see, monkey do when it comes to big sister.  Whatever Vivian is doing, you want to do it as well.  You love taking everything from her.  Poor Vivian.  You are not a fan of sharing!

You are scared of the Chick-fil-a cow, but you talk about him all the time.  You will give him a high five, only if mommy is holding you.  It will be interesting to see how you'll react to the Easter Bunny this year.  You did end up loving Santa Claus, so we shall see.

I love you so much!  You are just the CUTEST kid!!  Everybody can't get over how adorable you are.  People and kids are drawn to you.

Vivian

My beautiful first born little princess.  You are growing up into a beautiful young lady.

You are so smart!  You remember everything, things I can't even remember.

You love to draw and paint.  Always drawing mommy a picture and hanging them on the walls all throughout the house.  They are the sweetest!  You love playing games as well.

You love watching Team Umizoomi, Max and Ruby, Blaze and the Monster Machine, Bubble Guppies.  Really anything on Nick JR.

You still put an 'f' instead of 'th.'  You say, 'free' instead of 'three', 'toof' instead of 'tooth'.  I love it...so cute!  I know it will eventually go away.

You love playing at the playground as well.

You are a great sharer!  Some things you don't want to share with JoJo which is understandable.  You are a fantastic sharer at school.

You are in church choir and gymnastics.  You made the cutest little lamb in the church Christmas program.

You love to sing and put on performances.  Always imaginary playing.  You are also kinda lazy.  Still love watching our 'peppa' aka Kindle. JoJo is hooked as well.

We wake for the day around between 6-7:30 am and asleep by 8 pm at night.  When you wake in the morning, I lay in bed with you scratching your back, tickle your face and give you lots of kisses.  Love snuggling with you in your bed for a few minutes before going downstairs.

You have a little boyfriend at school named Griffin.  You guys are always giving each other hugs and kisses on the cheek.  Ya'll are so cute!  Your bestie is Reagan.  You two often have play dates at each other's house.  Well, her grammies house who lives down the street from us.  Her brother Calvin is in JoJo's preschool class.

I still cannot believe you will start kindergarten in the fall!!  I know our days will definitely fly by and you will get more involved in different activities.

I love both my girls very much and I cannot imagine life without the two of you.  You two keep things busy around here!

Christmas 2017

Christmas morning was great!  Vivian woke a little after 6:30am and her little face just lit up seeing all the gifts Santa left.  She wanted to dive in opening her presents but we made her wait until JoJo woke up.

Once Jo woke at 7am, the opening began.  Well, for Vivian.  Joanna only cared about the baby doll stroller and gas pump.  It took her another 30 minutes or so to start opening gifts which we had to start for her.  Vivian loved everything she received as did Joanna.  Big hit for Vivian was her walkie talkies, scooter, Hatchimals and hopper ball.  Joanna was the baby doll stroller, gas pump and a crying baby doll. The girls did receive more than they asked.  Vivian is really into board games which she got a lot of...maybe too many.  I guess you can never have too many games.  Christmas was a hit.  My Mom got her yearly calendar of the girls and my Dad got a My Pillow that he's been asking for.  I got BK the wrong shirt.  He was the most disappointed person on the planet HA.  Oh well.  My parents got me some wind chimes and BK got me two pullovers that I asked for, which was correct :)  The girls got a karaoke machine from my parents and a Doc McStuffin doctor station.  It was a fun year for the girls ages.  I'm sure even next year will be even better!  Such a magical time.
