38 Weeks

How far along are you: 38 weeks
Weight Gain: 137.4 this am.  Pre-pregnancy 116.4
Maternity Clothes: Some
Wedding Band: I'm now wearing it around my necklace.  I take it often to wash my hands so it was easier doing it that way.
Stretch Marks: Nope
Sleep: Still great!
Best Moment this Week:  Scheduling my induction
Movement: Yes
Food Cravings: Really wanted a Krispie Cream Donut this past week since 3 different patients brought them to us.
Labor Signs: A few contractions here and there.  Almost crampy feeling.
Symptoms: My feet are slightly swollen today because I walked a lot yesterday in flip flops
Belly Button: The top part is kinda sticking out
Mood: Anxious, Scarred, Excited
Looking Forward To: Our baby girl, Vivian Rose, being born on Friday!!!!!!

Things I will miss about being pregnant:  I will miss feeling her move and kick, I will miss feeling her have the hiccups, knowing she is with me every day.

Things I will not miss: Having to check my BS 4 times a day, watching every little thing that I eat, sleeping on my left side.

I truly cannot believe she will be here in just a few days.  We are so blessed that God has given us this gift and trusts us to take care of the little human being.  I am so happy He chose us and not anyone else to be her parents.  She is going to be so loved!  Truly one lucky little girl!!!

Side note, I think Brody is going to miss this belly being his pillow :)

Induction Scheduled

Well, it looks like we will have Miss Vivian in our lives on Friday, June 21st!!  I met with my High Risk Dr on Tuesday and my amniotic fluids had decreased to 4.9.  He scheduled me another BPP for Friday to see if they increase any.  If they didn't then I would be sent straight to L&D, if not, then he wanted her born at 39 weeks or a couple of days before.  On Thursday, I received a call from one of the nurses telling me that my induction was scheduled for the following Thursday, June 20th.  I was in shock.  She was talking to me and I was like "huh", "wait, what?"  She laughed and told me to see her on Friday when I have my BPP and she would go over everything with me.

BK came with me to my appointment on Friday 'just in case' I was sent for delivery.  I met with Sharon and she told me that I would call the hospital at 5 pm to find out what time they wanted me there Thursday night to insert Cervidil.  Supposedly, it takes 12 hours to soften the cervix then they will remove it then start the Pitocin.  I was told that when they remove the Cervidil I can shower and eat a light breakfast before starting the Pitocin.

I am NOT looking forward to having Pitocin because your contractions are suppose to be 10 x worse than natural contractions.  Believe me, I will be having the epidural!!  I'm sure I'm not going to care that I'm going to have a huge needle in my spine followed by a catheter.  I'm the biggest wennie when it comes to pain.  Heck, I passed out having stitches taking out of my hand and I also passed out scrapping my finger while playing pool.  I can't imagine how this is going to go.  Thankfully, as of Tuesday, she weighed 5 lbs 15 oz...tiny little thing.

I'm just ready for this all to be over and have our sweet Vivian Rose in our arms.  I know 20 hours of pain is going to be worth a lifetime of enjoyment!!  I can't wait to see what she looks like.

Can't believe one week from today she will be out of me and in my arms.  WOW!!  I hope we are ready!

Nesting

Well, its official, I'm in total nesting mode.  I have been trying to clean this house from top to bottom so Miss Vivian doesn't arrive home in filth.  Grant it, my house isn't completely filthy, but having a little dog and your husband constantly in-an-out of the house they track in dirt.  I can sweep 3 times in one day and it doesn't look like I've swept at all.  So far, I have cleaned 'Brody's' room upstairs (cleaned the baseboards, vacuumed, cleaned the vents and dusted the computer/desk, T.V. and his chair), cleaned the baseboards in the in kitchen and cleaned out/organized the cabinets, tackled our bathroom by cleaning the baseboards and cleaning/organizing underneath the sink, washed the bath mats and dusted/windexed the living room and our room.  I need to clean the guest bathroom and bedroom, windex all the windows and dust in Vivian's room.  Also, I want to rent a carpet cleaner this weekend and get after the carpets and rugs.  Think I'm going a little overboard?  Nah, I just know I'm not going to feel like giving this house a good scrub down once little one is here.  Overall, I'm a clean person and try to keep the house straighten up, but I want it to be perfect for her arrival.  I can't believe we are winding down to the end!!

Side note, I had my weekly BBP and my amniotic fluids are still on the low end of normal...7.4 yesterday.  Not raising any concern, but they want me to take it easy and still drink lots of water.  I have been drinking the water, but I'm sure being on the constant move from 6 am - 9 pm doesn't help.  During the ultrasound yesterday, she was sticking her little tongue in and out of her mouth.  So wild she is doing this!!

Hospital Bag

With this weekend marking me 36 weeks pregnant, I figured I would go ahead and pack my hospital bag as a 'just in case.'  I'm the type of person that does things in advance anyway...I can't pack at the last minute or night before.  Every vacation we go on, my bag is already packed and ready to go a week before we leave.  I hate forgetting things.

I'm sure I will add more things to my bag, but I don't want to bring too much.  I will definitely be in the hospital for 48 hrs because of the gestastional diabetes so I want to be comfortable as possible.  Luckly, I've had a couple of friends that recently had babies so they are giving me some good advice.

Grey PJ Set, Vivian's Coming Home Dress, My Coming Home Outfit or this dress, Flip Flops Nursing Tops, Nursing Bra'sVictoria Secret Yoga Pants, Toiletries, Nursing Cream, Ugly Panties, Socks, Slippers, receiving blanket and my frame insert for her footprint and handprint that I'm going to frame (Frame).

A few things that aren't pictured that I'm bring include my Canon Rebel Camera, Sony Camcorder, Boppy Pillow, make-up bag, Chi Flatiron and hair dryer.

We installed the carseat this weekend so we should be good to go!  Less than 4 weeks, hopefully :)

Baby Shower #2

Last night my work girls gave me a lovely baby shower at Elijah's restaurant downtown.  So much food was ordered and drinks were poured.  Obviously,  I had endless glasses of water!  We ordered Bruschetta, Olive and Cheese Bread, Calamari and Crab Dip to start us off.  For my main meal I had the Mixed Grill which included grilled shrimp, mahi mahi and salmon with a side of vegetable medley.  Boy was it delicious!  That was a wise decision.

After stuffing our face it was time for me to open my gifts.  One of my best friends, Jen, got me Baby Einsteins Caterpillar and Friends Play Mat.

Everyone else contributed to getting me 3 months supply of diapers and wipes from Jessica Alba's company, The Honest Company.  I pick my diaper design and they my mail them to my house.  How cool is that!  The diapers and wipes are organic which is an added plus.

After we got our check we walked out to the Riverfront to take a few pictures.  It was such a beautiful night!

I look like I have a Butterball Turkey under my dress, ha!  I couldn't ask for a better group of girls to work for.  I am VERY lucky!!!
